Privacy Policy

Who we are
SaveCub (go.savecub.com) is a free referral website operated by DO Media ("we", "us"). This policy covers this site only. Questions: support@savecub.com.
What we collect
We never ask for your name, phone number, email or street address. We collect:
- Your quiz answers: how many cars you need to insure (1, 2 or 3+) and whether you have car insurance now.
- Your state, taken from the ad link or chosen by you on the page.
- Your ZIP code. We store only its first three digits. Once the page has confirmed that your browser isn't sending Global Privacy Control, the full ZIP goes into the link to our partner (see "When you tap Continue"); it is not kept in our database.
- A referral ID: a random code created each time you tap "See my quotes".
- A session ID: a random code your browser keeps in session storage for this tab and sends with each page and quiz event, so we can group one visit's events. We store it with those events and delete it with them after 13 months. It isn't created when your browser sends Global Privacy Control.
- Page and quiz events: page views, quiz start, each answer, quiz completion, ZIP errors, state changes, and taps on the Continue and "Compare quotes" buttons, with the time, the session ID, the page version you saw and, once you submit, the referral ID.
- Campaign details from the ad link: utm_ parameters, the ad placement and ad click IDs (fbclid, gclid, gbraid, wbraid), plus a traffic-source label such as "facebook" or "direct".
- Device type (phone, tablet, computer or other), worked out from your browser's user-agent string, and which of our web addresses you visited. We don't store the user-agent string itself, and we don't store requests from bots and scripts.
How we use it
- To run the quiz and send you to our partner's form.
- To measure which ads, placements and page versions work, and where people stop.
- To spot abuse, such as bots and fake clicks.
- To match our partner's reports and payments to our referral records.
We can't contact you: we don't have your contact details.
When you tap Continue
Your browser opens SaveCubAuto at savecubauto.com. That site is run by our partner, a separate company, not by SaveCub or DO Media. The web address it opens carries our affiliate ID, your referral ID, a traffic-source label and, unless Global Privacy Control is on, your ZIP code. The partner receives them as soon as its page loads, even if you don't fill out its form.
From then on, the partner's privacy policy (https://savecubauto.com/privacy/) and terms apply. The consent on its form covers calls, texts and emails from the partner and its marketing partners, so read it before you submit.
The partner may tell us, by referral ID, whether a request was submitted, sold or rejected, and what we are paid for it. We don't ask the partner for your name, phone or email.
Your privacy choices (Do Not Sell or Share)
Passing a referral ID and your ZIP to a partner who may pay us for your visit may be treated as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information under some state laws. You can opt out:
- Global Privacy Control (GPC). When your browser or an extension sends a GPC signal, whether the page can read it or it arrives only with the browser's requests, we don't pass your ZIP to the partner and don't record page or quiz events. We still keep the referral record needed to reconcile the partner's payments (referral ID, time, answers, state and how it was chosen, first three ZIP digits, traffic-source label, page version, device type, which of our web addresses you used, and a note that GPC was on), without campaign details or ad click IDs. The partner link still carries our affiliate ID, the referral ID and the source label so the partner can credit the visit. If you don't want that, don't tap Continue; you can visit savecubauto.com directly instead.
- Email. Write to support@savecub.com. Because we don't know who you are, we need the referral ID to find your record: it is the pcid value in the web address of the partner page you opened. Without it we may not be able to identify your record, and we act only when one record clearly matches. We don't recognize returning visitors, so an emailed opt-out can't follow you to a later visit; GPC can.
To opt out of what the partner does with details you give on its form, use the choices in the partner's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
Referral records and events are deleted automatically 13 months after they are created. Our providers keep their own logs under their own policies.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, database access requires credentials, and we don't store names, contact details or IP addresses. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee security.
Children
This site is for adults shopping for car insurance. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, state law may give you the right to know about and access the personal information we hold about you, to delete or correct it, to opt out of its sale or sharing, and to appeal if we turn down your request. To use any of these, email support@savecub.com with your referral ID (see above); someone you authorize can also ask for you. We act only when one record clearly matches, and if we can't find one, we'll tell you. To appeal our answer, reply with "Appeal" in the subject line. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date above.
